<p><span style="font-weight: bold">Position summary</span></p> <p>Clean Energy Counsel is looking for a Billing Coordinator to join our growing firm.</p> <p> </p> <p>As a Billing Coordinator at Clean Energy Counsel, you will be responsible for the administration of the billing processes for all clients. The Billing Coordinator will report to the Director of Finance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.</p> <p> </p> <p>We operate as a distributed law firm and offer the opportunity to work remotely from the comfort of your home.</p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-weight: bold">Responsibilities</span></p> <ul> <li>Maintain lists of special billing requirements. Verify client-specific rate accommodations.</li> <li>Ensure accurate and timely processing of bills.</li> <li>Generate, review, and distribute draft bills</li> <li>Process edits and transfers to draft bills as directed by billing attorneys, keeping within the department and Firm standard turnaround time.</li> <li>Review draft bills for misallocated/erroneous time and disbursements to ensure they follow client guidelines.</li> <li>Review and process write-downs/transfers of time.</li> <li>Follow up with billing attorneys regarding billing deadlines, status of draft bills, and prepared bills.</li> <li>Post bills with billing attorney approval and within billing deadlines.</li> <li>Establish working relationship with the e-billing team and verify that client bills requiring electronic submission are correctly submitted and approved.</li> <li>Notify billing attorneys of delinquent accounts and respond as directed.</li> <li>Research and reconcile client accounts, payments, unapplied cash, etc. as necessary.</li> <li>Prepare and send reminder statements as directed by billing attorneys.</li> <li>Escalate situations as they arise to the appropriate team, such as rate issues, timekeeper approvals, delays in billing and complex requests.</li> <li>Manage the firm’s profile on billing platforms.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-weight: bold">Qualifications</span></p> <ul> <li>Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.</li> <li>Minimum 3+ years of legal billing experience with e-billing.</li> <li>Must have experience in a medium to large-scale law firm.</li> <li>Experience with a transactional law firm is a plus.</li> <li>Familiarity with legal timekeeping systems and legal billing platforms (e.g., SimpleLegal, BillingPoint, Legal Tracker), and proficiency with Microsoft, Google, and other standard office software environments (MSOffice Suite, Adobe Acrobat)</li> <li>Proficiency with Excel, strong analytical skills.</li> <li>Strong attention to detail.</li> <li>Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.</li> <li>Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure and provide support for other team members as needed.</li> </ul> <p><br><br></p> <p><span style="font-weight: bold">BENEFITS</span></p> <ul> <li>Health, dental, vision, Rx, long-term disability, short-term disability, and life insurance.</li> <li>PTO and paid holidays.</li> <li>401(k) with annual employer contribution.</li> <li>We are a fully remote law firm, allowing each employee to work from the comfort of their home.</li> </ul> <p><br><br></p> <p><span style="font-weight: bold">WHO WE ARE</span></p> <p>Clean Energy Counsel is a mission-driven law firm that is committed to advancing clean energy and sustainability.  We have a dynamic practice that is thriving, and our clients include industry-leading project developers, investors, lenders, suppliers, and service providers.  Our team is comprised of industry veterans with experience in BigLaw and in-house, who have dedicated their careers to advancing the energy transition and promoting a sustainable future.</p> <p>Our deep-rooted commitment to Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging drives our ability to build diverse teams and develop inclusive work environments.</p> <p><br><br></p> <p><span style="font-weight: bold">COME AS YOU ARE!</span></p> <p>CEC is committed to providing equal employment opportunities without consideration of race, color, religion, ethnicity, citizenship, political activity or affiliation, marital status, age, national origin, ancestry, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, sex or gender, or any other basis protected by law.
