Job Overview The Business Systems Analyst serves as the critical bridge between our internal business stakeholders and development team. In this role, you will own the requirements process end-to-end — partnering deeply with stakeholders to understand complex business needs across internal data initiatives spanning analytics, business intelligence, and reporting, translating those needs into clear, dev-ready documentation, and ensuring our development team can execute with confidence and minimal back-and-forth. This role is essential to how we deliver these initiatives efficiently and at scale. Essential Duties & Responsibilities <ul> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;">Own the intake and discovery process for internal data initiatives, ensuring requirements are fully understood and documented before development resources are engaged. </li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;">Lead requirements-gathering sessions with business stakeholders, applying techniques that draw out needs stakeholders may not yet be able to fully articulate — particularly in analytics and BI contexts where desired outcomes often emerge through iteration. </li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;">Translate business requirements into clear, dev-ready documentation including user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, data definitions, and reporting logic that development teams can act on independently. </li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;">Contribute to a groomed and prioritized requirements backlog in collaboration with the Technical Project Manager, ensuring development always has well-defined work ready to execute. </li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;">Serve as the ongoing point of contact for stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, managing expectations and communicating status, trade-offs, and decisions clearly. </li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;">Partner with stakeholders to define requirements for analytics, business intelligence, and reporting solutions — including KPIs, desired outcomes, and data needs — in a form the development team can act on. </li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;">Support stakeholder validation of early builds, prototypes, and draft deliverables to confirm development has interpreted requirements correctly and surface gaps before they compound. </li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;">Identify gaps, conflicts, or risks in requirements early and resolve them proactively before they reach the development team. </li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;">Participate in agile ceremonies as needed, ensuring user stories remain aligned with stakeholder intent throughout development. </li> </ul> Requirements & Skills <ul> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;">2–4 years of experience in a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar requirements-focused role. </li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;">Demonstrated ability to gather and document complex business requirements across multiple stakeholders or departments. </li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;">Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and business needs for technical teams. </li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;">Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria in an agile or agile-adjacent environment. </li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;">Proven ability to manage competing priorities and drive clarity in ambiguous situations. </li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;">Familiarity with Jira and Confluence for requirements tracking and documentation; experience working in a Microsoft Teams-based collaborative environment. </li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;">High attention to detail with a track record of thorough, accurate documentation. </li> </ul> Education <ul> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;">Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. </li> </ul> Compensation Mitratech remains committed to equitable and transparent pay practices. Final base salary offered may vary from the range listed and will be determined after carefully considering multiple factors during the hiring process, including location, relevant experience and education, required competencies and skill proficiency level, and review of internal equity.
