As an Export Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring seamless international shipments, navigating complex regulations, and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional service to our customers. What you will be doing: <ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Oversee all aspects of export operations and trade compliance for Staples Promotional Products within the Logistics team </li><li>Research country-specific regulations to ensure products meet export requirements prior to shipment </li><li>Classify promotional products using Schedule B tariff classifications </li><li>Evaluate export limitations including ECCN licensing requirements </li><li>Calculate freight, duty, and tax estimates across air, ocean, and ground transportation </li><li>Prepare export documentation including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, and Certificates of Origin </li><li>Track shipments and resolve customs issues with U.S. CBP and foreign agencies </li><li>Prepare AES filings and maintain export records for compliance (5-year retention) </li><li>Conduct restricted/denied party screenings and compliance audits </li><li>Deliver internal training on export compliance processes </li><li>Collaborate with vendors, freight partners, and internal stakeholders </li><li>Audit and process carrier invoices </li></ul> What You Bring to the Table: <ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Strong knowledge of international trade, export compliance, and global logistics </li><li>Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail </li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment </li><li>Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally </li><li>Ability to work both independently and as part of a team </li><li>Strong multitasking and prioritization skills </li><li>High level of accuracy and attention to detail </li></ul> What’s needed: Basic Qualifications: <ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>2+ years of relevant warehouse work experience </li><li>2+ years experience working with freight forwarders, carriers, and vendors </li><li>2+ years of experience in international trade and logistics </li><li>2+ years proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) </li></ul> Preferred Qualifications: <ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Bachelor’s degree in related field </li><li>Experience with export documentation, AES filings, and compliance processes </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities </li><li>Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment </li></ul> We Offer: <ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Inclusive culture with associate-led Business Resource Groups </li><li>Flexible PTO (22 days) and Holiday Schedule (7 observed paid holidays) </li><li>Online and Retail Discounts, Company Match 401(k), Physical and Mental Health Wellness programs, and more! </li></ul> Staples is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
