<p><strong>Position: School-Based Speech Technician for the 2025/2026 school year</strong></p> <p><strong>Location:</strong> Concord, CA</p> <p>The Paraprofessional is an individual who works with students requiring instructional, and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department and/or supervising designee.</p> <p><strong>What We Offer:</strong></p> <ul> <li>On-site and remote clinical support</li> <li>Administrative support</li> <li>Medical, Dental and Vision benefits</li> <li>Competitive pay</li> <li>Supportive environment</li> </ul> <p><strong>Duties:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Adhering to all the policies and standards.</li> <li>Exhibiting compliance with The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations.</li> <li>Following supervisor's guidance and documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the SLP.</li> <li>Preparing materials for students with the guidance of your supervisor.</li> <li>Programming and support of instruction in the use of augmentative and alternative communication devices.</li> <li>When appropriate, serve as interpreter for students and families who do not speak English.</li> <li>When appropriate, provide bilingual support under the SLP in another language for individuals who do not speak English and English-language learners.</li> <li>Scheduling meetings at the request of supervisor.</li> <li>Preparing and maintaining classroom displays and/or bulletin boards.</li> <li>Helping with the supervision of students during transitions to and from speech and throughout their scheduled therapy.</li> <li>Implementing behavior management strategies based on the students' IEPs</li> <li>Preparing materials and supplies therapy sessions.</li> <li>Maintaining a safe learning environment.</li> <li>Documenting student absences on a weekly basis.</li> <li>Ensuring students are signed in to scheduled sessions in a timely manner.</li> <li>Help troubleshoot any connectivity issues.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Must be 18 years of age or older</li> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent required</li> <li>Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills</li> <li>Successful completion of background screening and onboarding process</li> <li>Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements</li> <li>Full command, verbal and written, of the English language</li> <li>Bilingual in English and Spanish</li> </ul> <p><strong>Benefits</strong> :</p> <ul> <li>Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental & vision )</li> <li>Vacation hours</li> <li>Paid sick hours</li> <li>Annual CEU reimbursement</li> <li>401K plan</li> <li>Flexible Spending Account (FSA)</li> <li>Employee assistance program</li> <li>Employee referral bonus program</li> </ul> <p><strong>Compensation Range</strong> :</p> <p>$20-25/hr (depending on experience)</p>
