Our Swiss-based Cloud Native stream, consisting of 25 professionals, collaborates closely with clients to support them in their organizational and technical journey into the cloud-native world. We design, build, and manage critical cloud-based IT infrastructures, relying on our proven, standardized tool stack for container platforms, security measures, and CI/CD solutions. To expand our team, we’re seeking a Senior System Engineer. In this role, you will lead challenging customer projects and act as the Single Point of Contact for select Service Level Agreements. <h2 id="tasks">Tasks</h2> What You Will Do with Us <ul> <li>Act as the technical lead on complex projects, ensuring quality standards are met.</li> <li>Lead technical discussions with demanding stakeholders, align expectations, and turn ambiguity into clear next steps.</li> <li>Anticipate organizational and delivery risks, and address them early through structured communication in complex, high-pressure customer environments.</li> <li>Manage complex, critical systems, apply updates, and resolve incidents to keep them on track.</li> <li>Plan and implement sophisticated (multi-)cloud or on-premises platforms.</li> <li>Provide comprehensive support, tackle high-priority issues, and assist junior and professional team members in critical situations.</li> </ul> <h2 id="requirements">Requirements</h2> Must-Have Hard Skills <ul> <li>Proficiency in both written and spoken German (communicating with hand signals and gestures won’t cut it for this role, unfortunately).</li> <li>Five to eight years of experience as a system engineer in cloud environments.</li> <li>A strong DevOps background: CNCF and HashiCorp stacks, GitLab, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Helm, DevSecOps, IaC, and GitOps are your bread and butter.</li> <li>Broad experience in software development, cloud migration, and platform engineering.</li> <li>Strong networking skills and the ability to translate advanced concepts into smart network designs.</li> <li>Ability to identify security vulnerabilities early and address them effectively.</li> <li>Expertise in improving automations and building new ones to enhance operations.</li> <li>A sound understanding of how to align technology, architecture, and business requirements in complex customer environments.</li> </ul> Must-Have Soft Skills <ul> <li>You understand client needs, navigate demanding stakeholder situations with clarity and tact, and build strong, trust-based relationships.</li> <li>You identify risks and dependencies early, address them proactively, and create clarity in complex situations.</li> <li>You thrive on challenges and see solutions where others see problems.</li> <li>Quality matters to you, and you take full responsibility for your work.</li> <li>You work hands-on, support others in critical moments, and keep the right stakeholders aligned.</li> </ul> Nice-to-Have Qualifications <ul> <li>GitLab, IBM (HashiCorp), Red Hat, and/or SUSE certifications.</li> <li>Experience with SUSE products.</li> <li>AWS, Azure, and/or GCP certifications.</li> </ul> <h2 id="benefits">Benefits</h2> <ul> <li>We're REALLY serious about Open Source.
