<b>Job Description</b>Job Description<b>Senior Teradata Database Administrator</b><br><b>System Administration & Maintenance<br></b><br> Manage and maintain OnPrem Teradata systems including patches, upgrades, and hardware replacements.<br> Monitor system health using Viewpoint and other tools; perform preventive and corrective actions.<br> Support disaster recovery (DR) planning, testing, and quarterly maintenance.<br> Coordinate with Teradata and subcontractors for system hardening and vulnerability remediation.<br><b>Database Operations & Optimization<br></b><br> Perform backup and recovery operations using BAR DSA and NetBackup.<br> Monitor and tune performance, capacity, and resource usage (CPU, I/O, Spool, Storage).<br> Maintain workload management using TASM and Workload Manager partitions.<br> Administer access rights, role rights, priority scheduling, and security reporting.<br><b>Development Support & Governance<br></b><br> Guide developers on design and implementation best practices; review/approve database components.<br> Support EDW users with query optimization, job handling, and data integrity issues.<br> Maintain and administer OpenText BI-Query models and front-end tools.<br> Lead database-related meetings and deliverables with minimal supervision.<br><b>Reporting & Compliance<br></b><br> Generate and maintain capacity and performance reports.<br> Support internal and IRS audits; address risks and vulnerabilities proactively.<br> Communicate system alerts, risks, and status updates to stakeholders.<br> Ensure compliance with SCSEM and other security evaluation frameworks.<br><b>Collaboration & Leadership<br></b><br> Coordinate with teams and customers to meet business, security, and reporting needs.<br> Mentor team members and share knowledge on backup and database operations.<br> Participate in agile development environments and large-scale DDI projects.<br><b>Required Qualifications:<br></b><br> Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.<br> 7+ years as a lead Teradata DBA (Version 15+).<br> Experience with on premises Teradata 6800/1800 or IntelliFlex systems.<br> Expert in SQL skills and Teradata utilities (FastLoad, Multiload, FastExport, BTEQ, TPT).<br> Proven performance tuning experience in large databases (>5TB).<br> Experience in database specification development and issue resolution.<br> Excellent communication, client-facing, and mentoring skills.<br><b>Preferred Qualifications:<br></b><br> Teradata Vantage Certified Master.<br> Experience upgrading to IntelliFlex.<br> Data modeling experience (Erwin or similar).<br> Experience with OpenText BI-Query, metadata management, and data governance.<br> Familiarity with Medicaid/Medicare/Healthcare applications.<br> Experience in agile environments (Scrum, DevOps, GitHub).<br> Application server administration (Windows/Linux).<br><img src="https://www.jobg8.com/Tracking.aspx?DtAuq9LHioSa1tTO1%2fFomQe" width="0" height="0">
